12 Days of Christmas – 2nd Day

Can you believe it there are only 10 more days left until the little ones run wild around the Christmas Tree with lit up eyes and the extreme joy that only Santa’s visit can bring.

With half eaten cookies or carrots, overstuffed Christmas stockings and an extra layer of gifts under the tree we will ALL know that Christmas Day has finally come and all is right with the world!

Christmas Day really is one of the most perfect days of the year.

Without working very hard at it – you have probably noticed that there is very little to fuss about (other than Christmas dinner) on Christmas Day.  And because of that, you and your family may seem to get along better on Christmas Day than most days of the year.  It’s not because of the endless supply of Christmas Gifts, nor the Christmas Decorations, it’s not the Christmas goodies (such as sugar cookies, gingerbread, cheese and crackers to snack on) – it’s not even the Christmas Visitors that stop by the does this…. (it’s all of it combined) and the Christmas Drinks!  Yep!  We said it!

Christmas Day is the one day you are allowed to have a little rum in your egg nog or a little baileys in your coffee.  Perhaps you even put a little creme de menthe in your hot chocolates – even if it’s just one drink – it’s simply delicious and somehow remarkably soul soothing. That first sip is a great one isn’t it?

So in light of this and in keeping with the SPIRITS (now literally) of the season – we thought we would bring a new twist into the traditional meaning of “2nd day of Christmas”  and it’s accompanying Two Turtle Doves to share this Hilton Two Turtle Doves Drink Recipe with you.

P.S. For those of you who just turned 21 this year – not only do we hope you enjoy this holiday drink – but you might also appreciate our  Personalized 21st Birthday Gift it’s a Christmas Ornament as you might expect – but it’s a BEST SELLER and we think you deserve one too! Afterall you only turn 21 once.

Happy Holidays!

BUT, it is without doubt that one of the absolute best parts of the Christmas holidays is also the Christmas Cookies. Christmas Stockings

There is something truly nostalgic about a Christmas Stocking.

personalized christmas stocking ornamentIt makes Christmas morning complete in a way.  Think about it… it’s the VERY first thing you or your children see (let alone open) on Christmas morning is it not?

Santa almost always hangs the stockings from the fireplace – making the room come to LIFE – like nothing else can .  But in other homes Santa leaves them front and center on top of ALL Christmas gifts  or at the foot of the beds if there is no fireplaces… no matter where they are – they are always the source of great mystery and excitement for all.

Resorting to opening the Christmas Stockings first, is especially true if you are waiting for the entire family to get up and partake in the whole Christmas Tree gift hunting and opening party.  The stockings are Santa’s gift bags.  They are usually overstuffed with a seemingly endless flow of fun little gifts – some candy, chocolates,  oranges, jewelry and even socks, toys or other novelty items.

There most exciting part is that there are no rules with Christmas Stockings – they are just like Christmas Crackers, you never know what you are going to find inside! There is bound to be something worth smiling about – that – is the only certain thing!

Today you can choose whatever stocking stuffers you want!  The sky is the limit.  Let your imagination free.   Of course, we recommend a personalized Christmas Ornament from our Ornaments Shop – as at least ONE of your gifts… but you are truly left to your imagination – and up against one of the coolest challenges of all – TO FIND A NUMBER OF small enough gifts to place inside that you can get more than one in there…

We hope your imagination finds great gifts for the Christmas Stockings this year.

OH – and while you are pondering what those might be, we thought we would share a link to Pottery Barn’s adorable Christmas Stockings supply.  They are personalized and perfect.  Just as they should be.
